About
The Wheel House is three businesses under one roof in the Historic Town of Niwot, Colorado on the Front Range!
Niwot Wheel Works was set into motion in the summer of 2017. It was our goal to be a neighborhood hub and full service bike shop committed to supporting the cycling community in Niwot and the surrounding areas. We offer a full menu of mechanic services. We are able to diagnose, repair or tune up any type of bike, including ebikes. You can trust that our knowledgeable team will assess your situation, communicate openly with you, provide expert service and get you back out on the road quickly. No job is too small or too big!
The Niwot Wheel House came later and it is a bar and community gathering space. You can find live music many nights of the week, and of course trivia on Tuesday nights! Our space is available to hire out for private events, so if you’re looking for the perfect spot to host a party or even a wedding reception, get in touch with us at ericb@niwotwheelworks.com!
La Musette is our farm to table food truck run by Chef Skyla Olds, and our guest Chef Darragh Byrne. There is always something delicious available, so make sure to stop in!
Meet the team
Eric Bergeson
After his position as Senior Director of Quality at Amgen, Eric began to serve the nonprofit sector in the local area. His focus later shifted to Niwot, the town he had called home for 17 years. Being community driven, Eric wanted to ensure Niwot had everything it needed. It was no secret that the town lacked a bike shop. He partnered with Fernando Tapia, and Niwot Wheel Works opened in August of 2017. After three years of solid growth and a lot of fun, Eric and Fernando decided they needed more of a good thing and moved the operations to its current location at 2nd and Murray. The new location includes a café where they serve snacks, beer, wine, cocktails and other libations.
Fernando Tapia
Our master mechanic, Fernando, is one of the best in the county with 35 years of experience including several stints on professional cycling teams. He is happy to show you the work he’s doing, so you can learn more about your bike in the process.
