Live Music Sunday: Foxfeather Duo and Kate Farmer

Foxfeather is a sultry, alt-americana band founded in 2013 in Boulder, CO. Beginning with a lyrical base, and bolstered by strong blues-rock instrumentals, Foxfeather’s unique sound captivates their audience. Songwriters Carly Ricks Smith and Laura Paige Stratton met in high school, connecting over their shared love of music. The pair began writing together in 2005 and have been creating material for, and leading their band for the past 7 years. Foxfeather is extremely proud of being advocates of women in art and in business, and strive to motivate and empower other women and allies through song. The band is a local staple in the Colorado Front Range and also tours nationally.

Raised in the small community of Jamestown, CO, Kate Farmer can’t remember a time she wasn’t immersed in music. She grew up listening to her mother’s clear falsetto harmonizing with Nanci Griffith, Alison Krauss and Bonnie Raitt, instilling in her a deep love of strong female voices and heartfelt songwriting. After much encouragement at a young age, her first performance was at 9 years old where she brought several hippies to tears…and she hasn’t stopped since. Writing original songs on her acoustic guitar, her style feels soulful and bluesy with folk and Americana influences. In any genre, her voice alone could make you cry.

There will be a $15 cover paid day of at the door that goes entirely to the musician and sound tech. This reservation guarantees you a seat. Thank you for supporting live music!
